 Shoaib Malik is a Pakistani cricketer who made his debut for the Pakistani national team in 1999. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He is considered one of the most experienced players in the Pakistani team, having played in over 100 Test matches and over 250 One Day Internationals (ODIs).

Malik made his debut for Pakistan in a Test match against the West Indies in 1999 and went on to become a regular member of the Pakistani team in all three formats of the game. He is known for his aggressive and powerful batting style and has scored many runs for Pakistan in both Test and ODI cricket. He is also a useful bowler and has taken many wickets for Pakistan in all three formats of the game.


In 2007, Malik was appointed as the captain of the Pakistani team, and he led the team to many victories in both Test and ODI cricket. He was particularly successful as captain in the Twenty20 format, leading Pakistan to the finals of the 2007 and 2009 World Twenty20 tournaments.


Malik is also known for his off-field controversies, including a dispute with former Pakistani captain, Younis Khan, and a marriage scandal with Indian Tennis player Sania Mirza. Despite this, he continues to be a vital member of the Pakistani cricket team and is known for his leadership skills on the field.


Malik has received several awards and accolades throughout his career, including the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World award in 2007, and the PCB ODI Player of the Year award in 2008 and 2010. He also holds several records in Pakistani cricket, including the most catches by a Pakistani player in ODIs and the most wickets by a Pakistani spinner in T20Is.


In 2021, Malik announced his retirement from ODI and T20I cricket, with his last match being the final of the Pakistan Super League. He continues to play test cricket and is considered one of the most experienced and respected players in the Pakistani cricket team.
